mail art A to Z

You can see my decorated envelope showing Ubu's stomach making a "Q" at http://azmailart.over-blog.com/ .

cubomania

Romanian surrealist Gherashim Luca invented a method of collage called "cubomania" in which an image is cut into squares and the component squares are then reassembled automatically or perhaps at random. I have two cubomanias I made on the web: The Belgian is Transformed into an Oriental Priest with a Purple Tongue and My Fantasy Arrives by Post.

Ramak Fazel's attempted trip to 50 state capitols

Readers of this blog might be interested in Ramak Fazel's attempted trip to all 50 U.S. state capitols and the suspicion it aroused; read the New York Times article on it: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/20/arts/design/20shat.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1 .

Anarchist postage stamps

Although I've heard a little bit about these existing I wonder if there is anyone who can give me more detailed information...

"creative" perfins

Does anyone know of or has anyone considered exploiting these for artistic, imaginative, surrealist or propaganda purposes? It seems to me that they do not necessarily have to be restricted as an inventory control measure by corporations and Crown ministries.

fax art

I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites, books or other sources of recent information about this. I'd participated in some exhibitions in the past, but unfortunately interest in this medium, replete with possibilities (works that challenge the Scottish machine's reproductive capacity, for instance) seems to be drying up, and that's a shame...

Museum of Laziness, Bogota, Colombia

The Museum of Laziness (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17894696&ft=1&f=1047) has recently opened in Bogota, Colombia. (While praising this new institution and hoping to get down there as soon as possible I would like to suggest that it may have taken some of its inspiration for my proposal for grants to support couch potatoes.)

private cancellations in USA

While I am familiar with private overprints (usually for propaganda purposes such as support of the Italian Social Republic, National Socialism and so forth) not only elsewhere but in the U.S. (particularly noteworthy being the "Pray For War" used by a woman during the Vietnam conflict and the mysterious private overprint on the Florida statehood stamp), I was wondering if anyone had any information on private cancellations on U.S. postage under the Private Express Statutes and outside their occasional use on U.S. personalised postage (technically defined as meter labels). This would be a fertile field for exploitation by creative and philatelically-minded individuals.
